So I was listening to MLP’s song “This Day Aria” from the season finale for the gagillionth time and seriously freaked out.

When Queen Chrysalis sings her part “No I do not love the groom. In my heart there is no room!” she goes all flat and minor-y suddenly and it doesn’t really resolve.

In music that is called an Interrupting Cadence because it creates feelings of tension and climaxing suspense.

But it is commonly known as a Deceptive Cadence.
